Nice little twist on a log cabin quilt square or just where my head is.
Thanks Carrie for your input here. 'Twist' >> yes:: An alternative title I had in mind for this one was 'Piano Vibrato'. Re 'quilt' ..well I can also see the connection there but it's not what I had in mind.. however the weather's turning colder here 'down under'!
this is neat! cool bloomy bleeds really turn me on. why is that for goodness sakes? take those and integrate them into a concrete subject that is abstracted and you can't help to have something that sings at you! this is lovely, serene, chaotic, abstract and concrete. all in one. that is so damn cool...

I was just talking about you this weekend to a large crowd at the WaterMedia Weekend 2011 at the Burchfield Penney museum.
Joel, thank you for your really kind comment. I think how you've expressed in words your reaction to my small watercolour here surpasses the work you are describing! But thank you truly! I haven't felt particularly able to tackle larger pieces just lately, but surprisingly have found the intimacy of working small-scale is paradoxically free in some other way.. one of which seems to be that the texture and colour of the paper seems to become more important..

Nick thanks for your comment.. Yes C Burchfield made quite an impression on me at a time when I was ready for his art.. Would love to see more of his art at the Burchfield Penney Museum .. Congrats on being invited to lead a watermedia workshop there .. Only someone such as yourself could ably 'stand in' for CB as a truly innovative watermedia artist in his pioneering spirit..
And btw I'm forever grateful for your kind support and encouraging feedback!
